Prop roots

The pic below taken during my visit to the Mangrove forests located in Pichavaram lake, about 18 KMs from the famous temple city of Chidambaram, Tamilnadu.

These are the rarest marsh land situated near the seashore of Bay of Bengal.

What appear to be the trunks of trees, are actually the roots of the water dependant mangrove forest trees. The roots do both get  nourishment and provide support to the trees that actually thrive on the backwaters of the nearby sea.

This place , Pichavaram, is preserved as a Eco centre and declared as a Eco tourism spot.

Earlier, many movies were made here with boat chasing scenes as the climax of the story.

Why the film makers deserted this beautiful scenic place, is a question mark.

Mynah

Nature is beautiful .Be it a small plant or bird or a big mountain.

Each creation of nature is unique in its own way.

This bird, Mynah, has a yellow line behind the black eye and the same colour marks the beak also.
The white undercover and white feathers in the tail add beauty to this bird.

This pic from our neighbourhood.

Happy Xmas

Smoking affects health genes

A new study revealed that smoking alters several health genes leading to health problems such as increased risk for cancer and diabetes.

These effects on genes are likely not caused by the substances in the tobacco. But by the products that are formed when the tobacco is burnt.

So it's better to shun the evil itself: tobacco.

Xmas guides

Christmas means the Birth of Jesus.
Actually, the star or ray of light that appeared before the birth of Christ  was always forgotten.

That light or star actually is the manifestation of Divinity itself.

Here the Tree of  colorful and glittering light enthrals our life: reminding that life is to be lived and enjoyed benefitting all the fellow beings on this earth.

Light always signifies the good destroying the evil of darkness.

The same principle is followed in the Diwali festival of Hinduism.

Actually there is a common goal for all religions that preach variety of routes.
